What Legible collects
When you install and use Legible, we may store your Shopify store domain, app session information, product and image metadata, existing and generated alt text, review decisions, store settings, usage counts, scan history, and operational webhook records.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your store, read and update product image alt text through Shopify, apply your preferences, enforce plan limits, prevent duplicate work, and troubleshoot the service.
AI processing
To generate alt text, Legible temporarily retrieves the Shopify-hosted image and sends the image plus relevant product context to Google Gemini. Legible does not use customer checkout or payment data for generation, and it does not intentionally retain a copy of the image after the request completes.
Information we do not intentionally collect
Legible does not intentionally collect customer passwords, payment-card numbers, or checkout data. Shopify privacy webhooks are handled to support data access, erasure, and shop deletion requests.
Retention and deletion
App sessions, store settings, and scan history are retained while the app is installed so the service can operate. On uninstall, Legible removes those app records. To request deletion or ask about remaining operational records, contact support.
Security and hosting
Legible uses HTTPS for network traffic, keeps API credentials server-side, and stores application data in a Supabase Postgres database with public access disabled. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection, so please do not send API keys, passwords, or database connection strings to support.
